Abstract: | Lyme disease is a multisystem disorder caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi, which is transmitted by a tick (Ixodes Ricinus). Lyme disease is divided into three stages (infection, dissemination and immunological reactions). Ocular manifestations are rare except for conjunctivitis and facial nerve palsy. Switzerland is an endemic zone for Lyme disease; the presence of an atypical pars planitis should prompt a search for Lyme disease. |
