Abstract: | Arterial blood gas measurements were performed after sampling with two different syringes (B 109 Radiometer and "ONCE" ASIK) and storage of the samples at 0-4 degrees C for 15 min. The blood samples were analysed in an ABL3 blood gas analyser. We found no statistically significant difference between the mean PaO2, PaCO2 and pH values with either technique of sampling. The B 109 syringe does not offer any advantages over the common plastic 2.5 ml. syringe ("ONCE"). |
