The effect of different enteral nutrition in elderly diabetic patients in the early post-operative period of gastrointestinal tract

Objective:To compare the effect of different emulsions of enteral nutrition(EN) after early gastrointestinal surgery in elderly diabetic patients.Methods:Elderly diabetic patients with a total of 60 patients who underwent gastrointestinal surgery were randomly divided into three groups,A group(specific formula for diatebes),B group(standarot formula) and C group(intravenous infusion).The enteral nutrition infusion pump were used in A,B group.The patient’s nutritional indicators and blood glucose were detected and postoperative complications were observed. Results:The recovery of intestinal function in EN groups was significantly earlier than group C(P<0.05).The body weight,serum total protein and albumin were significantly higher in groups A nad B than group C(P<0.05).Compared with B group the fluctuations of blood glucose in A group was smaller(P<0.05) and easier to control.Conclusion:EN is to the recovery of intestinal function and the specific formula is more suitable for elderly patients with diabetes.
