Research progress of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of anal fistula in Crohn's disease

Crohn's disease is a kind of intestinal inflammatory disease caused by autoimmunity.It has the characteristics of protracted,refractory and repeated attacks.Anal fistula is a representative risk symptom with invasive manifestations.Young and middle-aged people are prone to the disease,and the potential economic and social burden caused by the disease is difficult to estimate.Western medicine has the disadvantages of high cost and high recurrence rate.The treatment of this disease is expected to maintain the low activity of the disease.TCM treatment of Crohn's disease anal fistula is dialectical,flexible and changeable.It has unique advantages in improving intestinal immunity,improving quality of life and alleviating symptoms.Most doctors believe that the pathological factor of this disease is dampness evil,and the pathogenesis always belongs to “deficiency in origin and excess in superficislity”.Combined with the experience of famous doctors,the author classifies the syndrome differentiation period of the disease into three syndrome types,qi stagnation and blood stasis,accumulation of dampness and evil,and deficiency of spleen and kidney,which correspond to the acute stage,active stage and remission stage of the disease,and summarizes and discusses the three external treatment methods of thread hanging,external washing and acupuncture.This paper reviews the research progress of traditional Chinese medicine to provide guidance for clinical practice.
