Abstract: | Contractions of isolated guinea-pig or rat vasa deferentia evoked by stimulation through ring electrodes were abolished after incubation with 6-hydroxydopamine?HBr. After this treatment it was no longer possible to demonstrate the presence of fluorescent nerves by the Falk-Hillarp technique and most preparations became supersensitive to noradrenaline. It is concluded that the motor innervation of rat and guinea-pig vasa deferentia is noradrenergic. |
