Quantitative analysis of serum C-reactive protein in the patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and dilated cardiomyopathy

Objective：To investigate the level of serum C-reactive protein（CRP） in the patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy（ICM） and dilated cardiomyopathy（DCM）.Methods：According to the results of coronary angiography,cardiomyopathy patients were divided into Group DCM（28 cases） showing normal coronary arteries and Group ICM（31 cases）.CRP levels were measured at different NYHA cardiac function grade.Results：CRP levels in patients with ICM were significantly higher than those in patients with DCM（P0.01）.At the same class of cardiac function,CRP levels in patients with ICM were significantly higher than those in patients with DCM.Both in ICM group and DCM group,higher the grade of cardiac function,higher the levels of serum CRP.Patients at NYHA Ⅲ and Ⅳ had higher CRP levels compared with patients at NYHAⅠand NYHAⅡin both groups（P0.01）.Conclusions：The level of CRP is important index for differentiate ICM from DCM.
