Predictive value of 4 platelet parameters in prognosis of chronic hepatitis B

Objective： To compare predictive value of different platelet parameters in prognosis of chronic hepatitis B.Method： A total of 124 patients with chronic hepatitis B admitted from January 2003 to April 2005 to were selected.They were divided into three groups,45 patients in Group A with chronic hepatitis B,42 patients in Group B with severe hepatitis B at early stage,and 37 patients in Group C with advanced severe hepatitis.Another 68 healthy cases were selected as control group.Four groups of Four parameters including platelet platelet count（PLT）,mean platelet volume（MPV）,plateletcrit（PCT）,and platelet distribution width（PDW）,and hyaluronic acid（HA）,platelet procollagen Ⅲ（PPⅢ） and laminin（）LN were determined and compared.Results： Compared with the control group,there were significant differences in four parameters,including PLT,MPV,PCT,and PDW,in Group A,Group B and Group C（χ2=13.626,20.917,31.794,respectively,all P〈0.05）.As patients′ condition aggravated,PLT and the PCT were decreased,while the MPV and PDW were on the rise.HA,LN and PPⅢwere sign-9＊ificantly higher in Group C（P〈0.05）.Conclusions： Detection of four parameters of platelet is valuable in prognosis of chronic hepatitis B.
