Abstract:Objective:To observe the protective effect of Danqi Huogan Capsule(DHC) on liver injury in mice induced by carbon tetrachloride(CCl4).Methods:72 KM mice were randomly divided into six groups:normal control group,model group,bifendate group,high dosage group of DHC,medium dosage group of DHC,and low dosage group of DHC.All mice were administered with DHC by intragastric administration(ig),one time per day for five consecutive days,and 24 hours following the last dosage of administration,the mice in groups except the normal control group were administered with CCl4(0.05 g/kg) by ip.Blood samples were collected in 24 hours following the ip injection and the levels of ALT,AST activity content in serum were measured,and the pathological change of liver tissue were observed.Results:DHC has lowered the levels of ALT and AST activity significantly in the serum of the mice with liver damage induced by CCl4(P0.05,P0.01).In addition,the pathological sections showed that the liver injury in both high and medium dosage DHC groups has been significantly improved.Conclusions:DHC can protect against liver injury induced by CCl4 in mice.The mechanism may be related to protection of liver cell membrane and reduction of the inflammatory response.
