| Abstract: | N-Nitrosocimetidine (NC) induces significant numbers of sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) and chromosome aberrations in cultured Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells even at a concentration of 1.2 × 10?7 M. Its effectiveness in SCE induction is about two thirds that of the gastric carcinogen N-methyl-N′-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG). These results constitute further evidence that NC possesses carcinogenic activity. |
