Abstract: | The removal of retained biliary stones by the use of the steerable catheter and wire basket after removal of the T-tube has proven itself to be valuable and safe technique. A success rate of 90% or better can be achieved by a radiologist quite quickly. The reduction in morbidity and absence of mortality makes non-operative removal of stones a very desirable service in any hospital doing a significant amount of biliary surgery. |
