| Abstract: | We report an unusual case of huge extrapleural hematoma in an anticoagulated patient with no apparent traumatic episode. An extrapleural hematoma (EH) was successfully treated by video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS). If an EH is large enough to cause ventilatory or circulatory disturbances, VATS may be the first option for the management of EH. Otherwise limited thoracotomy should be considered. |
