Abstract:Objective To compare the effects between 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose(18F-FDG)PET-CT and MRI in diagnosis of breast cancer.Methods 29 patients with suspicious masses in breast were selected,18F-FDG PET/CT and MRI scanning were performed and their pathological results were gotten within 10 d.The sensitivities,specificities and accuracies of PET/CT and MRI in detecting breast cancer were calculated by using surgery or biopsy results as diagnostic golden standard.Results 20 malignant and 9 benign breast lesions of the 29 patients were proven histologically after surgery or biopsy.The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy value obtained by MRI were 85.0%,66.7% and 79.3% respectively,and they were 90.0%,88.9% and 89.6% for PET/CT.The accuracy of PET/CT was a little higher than that of MRI,but there was no significant difference between them(χ2=1.17,P>0.05).PET/CT found 3 patients with left infraclavicular lymph node metastasis and bone metastasis.Conclusion There is no significant difference between PET/CT and MRI in detecting breast cancer.But PET/CT is superior to MRI in evaluating distant metastasis and accurate staging to guide therapy.
