| Abstract: | Acute emotional stress inhibits platelet aggregation in August and WAG rats and reduces it in Wistar rats. Functional parameters of platelets are altered predominantly in passive rats. Interleukin-1β reduces the rate of platelet aggregation in nonstressed August and WAG rats and elevates it in Wistar rats. Preliminary injection of interleukin-1β reduces the stress-induced changes in platelet aggregation in August and WAG rats; while in Wistar rats this effect is not observed.
