Abstract: | Average electroencephalic responses (AERs) to clicks were recorded from scalp electrodes over the left and right parietal areas (C3, C4) of 12 subjects. Measures of AER latency for monaural click and dichotic click—sentence conditions indicated that during dichotic presentation, the contralateral hemisphere in man responds significantly faster to the click than the ipsilateral hemisphere. These results are consistent with Kimura's (1961a) proposed contralateral-pathway advantage during dichotic listening in man. |
