Abstract:The pharmacokinetics and relative bioavailability of cefradine dispersible tablets (1) were investigated at oral dose of 500 mg in ten healthy volunteers. Drug concentrations in plasma were assayed by HPLC. The areas under the drug concentration-time curves (AUC0→T(n)) were 26.66±6.31 and 25.62±6.01 μg*ml-1*h, the mean residence time (MRT) was 1.44±0.19 and 1.66±0.27 h, and the biological half life (t1/2) was 1.07±0.28 and 0.97±0.14 h for 1 and cefradine capsules (2), respectively. The relative bioavailability of 1 was 105.0±14.6%, compared with 2. The results showed that the two dosage forms were bioequivalent.
