Formative Evaluation in Medical Chemistry Teaching

The formative evaluation focuses the evaluation of the learning process of students,which can get rid of the drawbacks of traditional summative assessment,improve active learning ability and creative thinking ability of students and to help teachers find the problems in teaching, modify teaching methods and to improve education and teaching standards through the feedback from formative evaluation. Discipline characteristics of medical chemistry and the evils of currently-used summative assessment in medical chemistry teaching were outlined,the application strategies of formative evaluation in medical chemistry teaching were elaborated and the great significance of formative evaluation in the teaching of the other subjects relevant to the education of medicine were discussed as well here in this paper.
