| Abstract: | Background The relative deficiency and/or resistance of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) may in severe heart failure, BNP has attracted more attention because of its special clinical value in diagnosis,prognosis and treatment of heart failure.Nesiritide is a recombinant human BNP (rhBNP) and is a new drug to treat heart failure. Purpose This paper is to elucidate the relationship between BNP and perioperative heart failure, and the clinical using of nesiritide. Content We will review the relationship between BNP and perioperative heart failure, and the clinical application of the recombinant human BNP-nesiritide. Trend BNP has special clinical value in diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of heart failure because of its close correlation with the soverity of heart failure. The definite therapeutic effect of nesiritide maks it a promising agent for the treatment of perioperative heart failure. |
