肺错构瘤51例报告

HAMARTOMA OF THE LUNG:A REPORT OF 51 CASES

Hamartoma is the most common benign tumor of the lung.51 cases were reviewed in this paper.Most of them were parenchymal hamartomas,except two which were bronchial.31 patients were asymptomatic,the others experienced some pain,cough,shortness of breath and hemoptysis.Radiography revealed a well-circumscribed mass with or without calcification for parenchymal tumor.Hamartoma is usually composed of cartilage,fat,smooth muscle and respiratory epithelium.Surgery is indicated as it is impossible to differentiate it from malignant tumors on clinical or roentgenologic grounds alone,and enucleation or wedge resection is desirable for this kind of tumor.
