Abstract: | The use of a multisite transvenous pacemaker in a patient with refractory heart failure who experienced short-term symptomatic improvement is described. The improvement in heart failure symptoms was most likely related to resynchronization of atrioventricular and interventricular asynchrony. Large, multicenter, randomized trials of this technology are being performed to evaluate the importance of this therapeutic modality in the treatment of heart failure. (c)2000 by CHF, Inc. |
