| Abstract: | Plasma vasopressin was measured by radioimmunoassay in eight normal subjects and in six patients with hypercalcaemia. Vasopressin levels were significantly elevated in the hypercalcaemic patients, although urine osmolalities were lower than in controls. This finding is consistent with a renal resistance to the action of endogenous vasopressin in hypercalcaemia. |
