Abstract: | The role played by various risk factors in urban and rural areas and the regularities in the occurrence and detection of pulmonary tuberculosis were defined from the analysis of 120 pulmonary tuberculosis contamination cases which were revealed for the first time in the region during 5 years. The study included the patients' age, the pattern of morbidity according to the clinical forms of pulmonary tuberculosis, dependence of morbidity on the number of residents--bacilli excretors, the influence of the risk factors of the disease, the effectiveness of preventive fluorographic screening of the thoracic organs and the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis by general physicians. It was found that the epidemiologic situation for tuberculosis in the rural areas is more unfavourable than that in the urban ones. |
