Research of community rehabilitation therapy on the prognosis of stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients

Objective To observe community rehabilitation therapy for stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients on pulmonary function, quality of life and the number of acute attacks. Methods Sixty stable COPD patients were randomly divided into intervention group ( n = 30)and control group ( n = 30) for half a year observation period. Community rehabilitation therapy intervention was added to the intervention group include in healthy education, psychology intervention,breathing exercises, home oxygen and nutritional intervention. In both groups were measure pulmonary function and quality of life before and after discharge for half a year. Record changes in patient condition by telephone, return visit, follow-up visits were followed up for half a year. Results After the intervention, the intervention group of lung function, quality of life and the number of exacerbation and readmission were significant improvement compared with before intervention and the control group, the difference was statistically significant ( P ＜0. 05). Conclusions The community rehabilitation therapy can improve pulmonary function, delay further deterioration of lung function, improve quality of life of patients and the prognosis,it is worthy of promotion.
