Clinical analysis of 84 patients with Stanford type B acute aortic dissection

Objective：To study the clinical features of patients with Stanford type B acute aortic dissection and their risk factors influenced on prognosis.Methods：Retrospectively analyze the clinical data of 84 patients with Stanford type B acute aortic dissection.Statistical analysis of data were done later.Results：Among 84 patients with Stanford type B acute aortic dissection,there were 73 male and 11 female,their mean age was（52±12.7） years old.The attack was relatively concentrated in March,April,October,November and December.Among the subjects,65.5% patients suffered from chest pain and 71.4% patients had a history of hypertension.Their mean heart rate was（83.0±14.5） times/min and mean blood pressure was（158.8±36.2）/（92.9±22.3） mmHg at admission.Eight cases died（9.5%）.The mean age of dead cases was significantly lower than that of survived cases （40.3±8.0） years vs.（53.2±12.6） years,P0.05]and heart rate of dead cases was significantly higher than that of survived cases （99.1±19.1） times/min vs.（81.3±13.0） times/min,P0.05].Logistic regression analysis showed that age（OR=0.879,P=0.02） and heart rate（OR=1.123,P=0.007） were independent indicators of death.Conclusion：Stanford type B acute aortic dissection is often seen in young or middle aged men and attack is more likely happened in spring or winter.These patients mainly possess history of hypertension and the major symptoms are chest pain and backache.Among these patients,the young patients with high heart rate are in high risk of death.
