EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE INACTIVATION EFFECTS OF SEVERAL COMMON DISINFECTANTS AND HEAT ON HBsAg
Abstract:The inactivation effects of 4 disinfectants and heat on HBsAg were observed in laboratory. HBsAg was quantitatively examined by SPRIA. The results indicated that in order to convert the testing serum into HBsAg negative(P/N<2.1), 2 min was required when the serum was exposed to solution of sodium hypochlorite(containing available chlorine 2,000 mg/L). When peracetic acid was used, 0.8% solution with a 2 min contact time, 0.5% solution with 10 min or 0.2% with 20 min contact was required to inactivate HBsAg. Heat at 98℃ for 1 hr could also bring about negative conversion of the testing serum. Both 95% ethyl alcohol and 1:125 bromogeramine could not completely inactivate HBsAg, but significantly lower its concentration after contact for 30 min. For instance, 70% ethyl alcohol with a 2 min contact time could lower the concentration of HBsAg by 92%.
