Abstract: | Alakija W. Some factors affecting utilization of health servicesprovided for the students of the University of Benin, Nigeria.Family Practice 1988; 5: 3639. Some of the factors affecting the utilization of the studenthealth service at the University of Benin, Nigeria, were investigated. There was no significant sex difference in students' use ofservice nor was there a significant difference in the use ofservices by students of different faculties of the university.Significantly more use was made of medical centres than hospitalout-patient departments and general practice clinics and thiswas attributed to the easy accessibility of the medical centres. The time spent in waiting to see the health providers was alsoimportant and accounted for more use of the medical centres.Other factors found to be important included student-medicalstaff relationships and avail ability of essential drugs |
