Monitoring results of rural environmental sanitation in Jilin province,2016-2019

Objective To understand the current situation and dynamic changes of rural environmental sanitation in Jilin province in recent years, to evaluate the quality of rural residents’ environmental sanitation, and provide scientific basis for the government to formulate policies and public health interventions.Methods 240 monitoring points were selected in Jilin province every year from 2016 to 2019, and monitoring data was collected by means of on-site observation, investigation and inquiry, etc.Results From 2016 to 2019, the penetration rate of rural sanitary toilets in Jilin province was 44.19%, 35.34%, 28.62%, and 23.55%(P<0.001). The sanitation toilet penetration rate in sanitary villages was lower than that in non-sanitary villages;25.83%, 25.00%, and 70.42%(P<0.001), domestic sewage treatment rates were 2.10%, 2.90%, and 2.50%(P>0.05), sanitation villages’ domestic garbage and domestic sewage treatment rates were higher than non-sanitary villages;The coverage rate of population with centralized waler supply village was higher than that in nonsanitary villeges. the coverage rate of rural centralized water supply population was 46.49%, 49.52%, 52.94%, and 55.73%(P<0.001).Conclusion In the past 4 years, the penetration rate of rural sanitary toilets, the rate of rural domestic sewage treatment, and the proportion of population covered by rural centralized water supply are low, but the centralized treatment rate of rural domestic garbage is good in Jilin Province. Sanitary villages have played a positive role in the rural environmental sanitation.
