Exploring Intuitional Thinking in Emperor's Canon of Medicine

Intuitional thinking in Emperor's Canon of Medicine is a way of speculation based on intuitional perception of objects and abstraction of the perception, which is applied to investigation of the features of the objects and the laws of their change and development. Intuitional thinking consists of two modes, systematization of things according to their visible similarities and systematization of things according to their unmerical characteristics. Both modes differ from modern scientific abstraction; they begin with understanding of the laws of change and development of things on the basis of perception of their intuitional forms, and then, aim to master the ultimate truth of the universe, including the human body, by abstraction of the perception. Intuitional thinking is the main form of theorization in recognizing the objective world. A good command of this form of thinking is of great significance in exploring the laws of the teaching of the course of Emperor's Canon of Medicine, guiding the orientation of TCM theoretical research and improving the curative effect in TCM clinical practice.
