Abstract: | Primary malignant germ cell tumours of the mediastinum are rare and are associated with poor survival when treated with surgery alone or with surgery when chemotherapy has failed. Recent improvements in combination chemotherapy have given some prospect of cure. A patient treated with primary surgical excision and postoperative chemotherapy, who remains free of disease 24 months after completion of treatment is reported here. |
