Abstract: | The concept of customer preference is an important factor in business and marketing that has been applied in some instances in the marketing of drugs. In this review, we evaluate the characteristics of phosphodiesterase type five (PDE5) inhibitors in the context of available related drug preference studies. We also address the perceived need for drug preference studies and how findings from these studies could influence physicians prescribing PDE5 inhibitors. We conclude that other factors besides patient drug preference—including efficacy, safety, drug interactions, and contraindications—should be the main influence on prescribing physicians. |
