Abstract: | Balloon cells may occur in both benign nevi and malignant melanomas. Sometimes they dominate the histological appearance and cause difficulties in biopsy interpretation. There are no specific clinical characteristics. We report a metastatic balloon cell melanoma where the primary tumour was not identified and the histological appearance mimicked that of a clear cell renal carcinoma. |
