Abstract:Objective:To investigate the role of dual-energy CT angiography(DE-CTA)in the diagnosis and treatment of intracranial aneurysms.Methods:The DE-CTA imaging data of 63 patients with intracranial aneurysms confirmed by surgery or interventional therapy in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.Volume rendering(VR)and maximum intensity projection(MIP)were completed in all cases,and compared with surgery or DSA to evaluate the sensitivity,specificity and application value in the diagnosis and follow up of intracranial aneurysms.Results:A total of 67 intracranial aneurysms(63 patients)were discovered with DE-CTA and confirmed by DSA or operation,1 cases was missed,the sensitivity and specificity of DE-CTA were 98.53%and 100%.DE-CTA could clearly show the size of aneurysm,the width of aneurysm neck,the direction of aneurysm axis,the calcified plaque of aneurysm,and the spatial relationship between aneurysm and parent artery,but the perforator vessels related to aneurysm were not well displayed;There was no residual neck after operation,and the artifact of metal beam hardening was more obvious in interventional therapy.Conclusion:As a rapid and non-invasive technique,DE-CTA is of great value in the clinical diagnosis and postoperative follow up of aneurysms.
