Abstract: | A 31-year-old, obese woman with extrameningeal cryptococcal disease was admitted to the Medical College of Virginia for antifungal therapy. Various physiologic variables influence flucytosine pharmacokinetics, and there are no guidelines for dosing the agent in obese patients. This patient received a dosage based on her ideal body weight, and serum drug concentrations were monitored. She recovered without sequelae. |
