| Abstract: | A material of 108 patients with glioblastoma is presented. The series was randomized in two groups: cases only operated upon and cases with postoperative irradiation in addition. Patients dead within 2 months after operation were excluded in estimating the real value of the postoperative irradiation. The irradiated cases had a 6-month survival rate of 64 per cent and a one-year survival rate of 19 per cent; the non-irradiated cases a 6-month survival rate of 28 per cent and a one-year survival rate of 0 per cent. |
