Abstract:It is needed to develop early bio-markers of acute kidney injury following cardiac surgery, whose morbidity and mortality are increased by its presence. NGAL( neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin) seems to be a promising biomarker for the early diagnosis of acute kidney injury (AKI). However, a wide range in its predictive value has been reported. It is reviewed whether NGAL can early diagnosis AKI actually.
