| Abstract: | Twelve cases of traumatic tear of the diaphragm have been operated upon. In nine operation was done less than a week after the accident, with eight excellent results and one death. Three cases were recognized late in patients who had sustained chest injuries months or years earlier. Repair was accomplished in all patients through a thoracic approach. |
