Abstract:In a single fortuitous case it has been possible to measure serum levels of CA 125 during 3 years preceding the diagnosis of an epithelial ovarian carcinoma. CA 125 levels were elevated 10-12 months prior to clinical detection of the malignancy. CA 125 deserves further evaluation as a marker for early detection of ovarian cancer.
