Effect of medicated thread moxibustion of Zhuang medicine on IL - 2 in serum of ovariectomized rabbit

Objective To approach the effect of medicated thread moxibustion of Zhuang medicine on IL-2 in serum of ovariectomized rabbit.Methods 30 female New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into five groups,control group,sham group,model group,medicated thread moxibustion of Zhuang medicine group（medicated thread group） and void thread group.Perimenopausal syndrome model rabbits was established by extirpation of ovaries.Medicated thread group was given medicated thread moxibustion of Zhuang medicine in the 15th days after surgery.Void thread group was given void thread moxibustion.The course was four weeks.The changes of IL-2 in rabbits serum were detected in the 15th days after surgery,two and four weeks after treatment.Results The levels of serum IL-2 in model group,medicated thread group and void thread group decreased as compared with that in control group and sham group 15 days after surgery,the difference was statistically significant（P0.05）.The levels of serum IL-2 in medicated thread group and void thread group increased as compared with model group 2 weeks after treatment,but the difference was not significant（P 0.05）.The level of serum IL-2 in medicated thread group significantly increased as compared with those in the model group and void thread group 4 weeks after treatment（P0.05）.Conclusion Medicated thread moxibustion of Zhuang medicine can increase the level of IL-2 in serum of ovariectomized rabbit,this may be one of mechanism of treating Perimenopausal syndrome.
