Transplantation of an island fascial flap with a vascular pedicle for arthoplasty of the hip

Summary Intra-articular transplantation of a vascularised island fascial flap has been used for arthroplasty of the hip in 18 patients with an average age of 22 years. They have been followed up for an average of 3 years; 14 were graded excellent and 4 good using the criteria of Charnley and Wu Zhikang. The procedure has a place in the treatment of hip disease in the younger patient.

Résumé Chez 18 malades âgés de 22 ans en moyenne on a eu recours, pour réaliser une arthroplastie de hanche, à la transplantation intra-articulaire d'un lambeau aponévrotique vascularisé. Les opérés ont été suivis en moyenne 3 ans; 14 ont été considérés comme d'excellents, et 4 comme de bons résultats, selon les critères de Charnley et de Wu Zhikang. Cette technique a sa place dans le traitement des affections de la hanche chez les sujets jeunes.
