Abstract: | Summary This paper describes the in vitro establishment and chemical treatment of human foreskin epithelial cells which transform the cells to an anchorage-independent state as demonstrated by growth in soft agar. The procedures described include (a) production of primary cultures of human epithelial cells, (b) cytotoxicity determination of putative chemical carcinogens, (c) chemical transformation protocol, and (d) evaluation of chemical transformation as indicated by anchorage-independent growth. |
