Abstract: | The services available for younger people with dementia (typically between 45 and 65 years of age) are underdeveloped. This article describes how one trust has addressed the problem through a 'coffee shop' project. This drop-in facility allows younger people with dementia and their carers to meet informally, support each other and access a range of services, such as counselling, medical information, help with benefits and legal advice. |
