Abstract: | The reaction between carbon monoxide (CO) and the living Zr‐poly(propylene) (Zr‐PP) bond, which was prepared with Cp2ZrMe2/B(C6F5)3/AlOct3 catalyst system at –78°C, was investigated. The reaction products were analyzed by means of IR, 1H‐NMR and GPC. Under the reaction conducted at –78°C, it could be found that CO was quantitatively incorporated into the Zr‐PP bond to generate a terminal aldehyde group. And when the reaction was started at –78°C and gradually warmed up to room temperature, a ketone carbonyl in the polymer chain was formed. |
