Abstract: | To avoid major complications, such as intraperitoneal bleedingafter percutaneous transhepatic catheterization, a new techniquehas been developed. In this procedure, a stick-like gelfoamsponge compressed manually and loaded in a cartridge, is insertedthrough an outer sheath catheter after the removal of the catheter,and the puncture hole is plugged. No bleeding has been experiencedin 56 patients with various hepatic diseases since using thismethod. |
