Quality assurance in hospitals.

The scarcer resources are in a hospital, the more carefully the quality of the services rendered--the type and the extent--must be ensured by means of resolute control. We must not reach a point where sparse resources lead to a poorer quality in services or where patients do not receive the treatment required. In this article the author gives a survey of the various methods of quality rating, giving the individual hospital the possibility of comparison with other hospitals.
