| Abstract: | Ovarian cancer is a common gynecological malignant tumor with an extremely high mortality rate due to difficulty of early detection and lack of effective treatment in the advanced stage. Exosomes are the vesicles carrying many bioactive ingredients, which are abundant in the circulatory system and act stably on target cells. As mediators for intercellular communication, exosomes participate in the transmission of information between ovarian cancer cells and their microenvironment, which may have great potential in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of ovarian cancer. In this article, we review the mechanisms of exosomes on the development and progress of ovarian cancer, as well as their application in the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer, to provide new insight for further studies on the biological properties of ovarian cancer. |
