Abstract: | This study examines two treatment interventions for patients in the pre-recovery stage of addiction. Patients in the Psychoeducation group, compared to the Recovery-oriented group, demonstrated greater duration in treatment and agreement with the first three steps of the Twelve Steps, measured by a Steps Questionnaire. The study is based on a new model for stage of recovery, which compliments the Twelve Step recovery model and includes eight "Beginning Steps" as a pre-requisite to becoming "recoveryready." |
