Synthesis and calcium-antagonist activity of some phosphonates |

| Abstract: | The synthesis and pharmacological evaluation of a series of phosphonates related to Fostedil, diethyl 4-(benzothiazol-2-yl)benzylphosphonate 1 , a potent calcium antogonist are reported. Among the compounds studied, only diethyl 4-(benzooxazol-2-yl)benzylphosphonate 5 , which is closely related to Fostedil, shows a low calcium-antagonist activity. |
