Epidemiological characteristics of Influenza A (H1N1) in Shunhehuizu District of Kaifeng City in 2009

Objective To provide the foundation for establishing the measures to control and prevent the Influenza A（H1N1） by understanding the characteristics of epidemic on this disease in Shunhehuizu District of Kaifeng City in 2009.Methods Analyzing the characteristics of epidemic on the cases which were reported in 2009 by descriptive epidemiology methods.Results There were 28 cases of Influenza A（H1N1） being reported in 2009 by the big outbreak network,which were all mild cases and no death.The reported incidence rate was 10.84/100 000.There was no large scale outbreak,and only one incident from public health emergencies.Two peaks of the Influenza A（H1N1） cases reported were in September and November.The number of reported cases in November was the most,which up to 46.43 % of the total.The number of incidence in cities was higher than that in rural areas,accounting for 96.43 %.The mainly attacking group was 10-20 years old students.And the attacking in male to female ratio was 1.55：1.Conclusion The Influenza A（H1N1） cases in this district based on local infection.Monitoring should be strengthened,especially schools and other collective units to control and prevent the large scale outbreaks.
