Bacterial pathogen analysis of Meningitis encephalitis syndrome in Puyang city.

Objective To know the bacterial pathogen through the monitor of meningitis encephalitis cases in PuYang city,and to provide rapid accurate and technological data for the establishment of the laboratory with high throughout and rapid detection technique and infectious disease control.Methods through the laboratory examination for the suspected bacterial encephalitis meningitis to separate cultivate and identify the pathogen including neisseria meningitides,haemophilus influenzae,streptococcus pneumoniae,staphylococcus aureus,streptococcus suis,escherichia coli and cryptococcus neoformans,epidemiological survey was held at same time.Results 56 cases with 34 male（60.71 %） and 22 female（39.29%）are monitored from 2010 March to 2010 December,the cases are clustered below 1 years（58.93%）,the youngest is 2 days,while the oldest is up to 38 years,the median of the age is 0.58（P25=0.08,P75=3.00）.In vocational character most of the cases are children（78.57%）;blood and cerebrospinal fluid in 98 cases are collected and separated,the positive rate is 10.20%（3 streptococcus pneumoniae strains,5 Micrococcus strains,1 staphylococcus haemolyticus strain,1 enterococcus faecium strain）.Conclusion Most of the cases with bacterial encephalitis are infected by streptococcus pneumoniae,it is almost occurred in the children below 1 year old with severe symptoms,it is easy to lead to death without timely treatment.Strengthening the responsibility of the doctor and supervision are the important guarantee of the monitoring work.
