Abstract: | A method for physiological hemoglobin elimination from erythrocytes is proposed. Its characteristic feature is increase of erythrocyte membrane permeability and complete release of hemoglobin from erythrocytes by adding an equal volume of 2% papaverin hydrochloride to washed erythrocyte suspension, followed by washing of empty erythrocyte membranes in isotonic sodium chloride solution. Clean intact erythrocytic membranes are obtained, possessing the hemostatic functions typical of blood platelets. |
