Abstract:We present a case of extensive tumoral calcinosis in a 42-year-old female with end-stage renal disease and secondary hyperparathyroidism on peritoneal dialysis. Periarticular calcified masses demonstrating fluid-calcium levels on computed tomography and containing chalky amorphous calcified material in the absence of neoplastic cells are the salient features of tumoral calcinosis. Although renal failure is the most common cause of secondary tumoral calcinosis, there are few reported cases of this condition occurring in patients on peritoneal dialysis. This case is also unusual due to the widespread and bulky nature of the disease with involvement of the neck and its quick onset and progression.
